In addition to our own corporate transactions, we also offer investors access to third party IPOs and secondary issues, where we have confidence that they will perform. These transactions are typically out of reach to most investors. Through Cornhill’s extensive network of companies that we have direct relationship and through their financial advisors (ie. their Corporate Brokers and NOMADs), we have significant access to a wide range of equity issues and IPOs which we vet, and those that we deem suitable are made accessible to our clients. These companies are run through a due diligence and filtering process to ensure that all companies that we present to investors meet our investment criteria for offering potential capital growth.
We, and our clients, understand that all equity investments carry a degree of risk, our investment process seeks to better define these risks and filter out any potential transactions that do not meet our criteria. We typically meet with management teams directly during this process and where possible we continue to maintain a direct relationship with the company as well as its financial advisors. This relationship means that we are well placed to provide ongoing advice to our clients on the progress of their investments.Companies raising funds through an equity placement often do so at a discount to the market price via their sponsoring broker.
There are more than 100 corporate brokers that represent AIM listed companies raising and we offer our clients the benefit of being able to access many fund raising via a single brokerage account rather than having an account with specific brokers who have a vested interest in promoting only the companies that they sponsor. This independence gives clients confidence that our interests are aligned.
